As close as dreamer, Tim (Atum) Finnegan will get to his wake. Best chance is already missed, though, at the end of the book; (may his forehead be darkened with mud who would sunder!) [the end and the beginning of the book], being the voice of one of the conspirators, also reflects this. In I.2 his dream, HCE, takes the stage with upright pole in his hand, meeting the king and his guards with pikes. Pole is symbol of neter and HCE should identify himself as god - however, he is in pickle: he tiles land, is uncertain of language, and he is accused for potholes which appeared on the road. His position is further deteriorated when he meets a cad in a park and and goes from bad to worse when ballad about him is made public...
